What is Kybella?

Kybella is a prescription injectable called Deoxycholic Acid that can dissolve the excess fat below your chin. Your own body will ‘clear away’ the broken down fat cells over the course of 4-6 weeks, revealing a slimmer profile. This treatment is safe and effective for improving your overall appearance and profile.

How long do the results of Kybella last?

Results of Kybella are permanent. However you may need several treatments over several months to achieve optimal results. Your provider can determine how many treatments will help you reach your goals during your initial consultation.

Where can you use Kybella?

Kybella is FDA-approved to treat fullness under the chin, however, off-label, in can go in multiple areas. Other popular areas to inject Kybella are near the armpit for the bulging you may experience due to undergarments (aka 'bra fat' or 'back fat'), as well as small pockets of fat in the abdominal area. 

How is the recovery?

Most patients will experience swelling at the treatment area for 5 to 7 days after the procedure. After about a week, the fullness will mostly subside. The area will feel firm, tender, or lumpy when touched for a few more weeks, but not be noticeable to anyone else. This is normal and your body's way of removing the broken down fat cells. Full recovery takes on average 6 weeks before another treatment is recommended.
